- CCC and Copenhagen Municipality embark on new cooperative project
- Transforming the Nordhavn area of Copenhagen into a “smart city” is a project that CCC will be following closely. In a new cooperative project with Copenhagen Municipality the cluster’s members will be coming together to solve specific challenges.
And the level of interest is high. At a recent workshop 100
members showed up to hear more about business opportunities in
Nordhavn.
- In some respects, the Nordhavn project is the Danish equivalent
of Masdar. It is a completely new district that is to be developed
as a smart city with the newest and most intelligent green
technologies. Our members can contribute significantly to this and
we have an extensive focus on specific challenges, for instance,
making data in the houses interact. In these kinds of projects, a
large number of the cluster's companies can cooperate in developing
the right solutions, says Nicolai Sederberg Rottbøll, Head of
Secretariat.
- The next step will be to narrow down the number of challenges so
we can define specific projects for the members. That way, it will
be easier for the individual actors to identify which aspects of
the solutions they can contribute to, continues Nicolai Sederberg
Rottbøll.
He expects that over the course of the next few years, similar
co-operative projects between CCC members and other municipalities
will arise.
Global market for Danish cooperation
Going forward, there will be further good opportunities for
Danish companies to take part in the Nordhavn project. Because a
central part of the initiative will be to develop new products and
solutions specifically designed for Nordhavn, the numerous
individual actors will benefit from working collectively to reach a
mutual result.
- The training and experience that comes from solving concrete
issues together with other companies consequently makes Danish
firms more attractive as partners in large, global projects. CCC
has already formed a partnership with Masdar in Abu Dhabi to
analyse their entire garbage and waste water management system. I
expect to see many of these holistic solutions in the future, says
Nicolai Sederberg Rottbøll.
CCC has already invited the CEO of Masdar City to Copenhagen during
Green Week (week 41) to meet with relevant Danish cleantech
players.
