Danish cleantech prepares for global shopping
Green Week is a unique opportunity for Danish companies to present themselves to international buyers. Danish cleantech companies are front runners in green technology, energy saving and environmental sustainability, which is why Copenhagen is hosting Green Week 2011 in week 41.

Over the course of the week, Copenhagen will be buzzing with ideas and creativity from workshops, debates, happenings, events and exhibitions all related to cleantech initiatives such as sustainable construction and the creation of green jobs.

Government officials, business executives, grass-root members and interested citizens from all over the world will be participating and giving their views on how we can collectively manage global challenges and readjust to green growth.

Naturally, the attention surrounding this event has to be exploited in a way that benefits Danish companies, says Michael Johansen, Project Development Manager at Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster.

- Everyone will understand that Denmark is the place to be with regard to cleantech business, and this can only yield positive results. In the near future, Denmark will take part in a number of international partnerships and co-operative projects, with South Africa for instance, which should benefit Danish firms.

Denmark's leading position on the cleantech front has contributed to the decision that the Danish government is to co-host the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) together with South Korea, in which 200 heads of government and top executives will take part. The purpose of the forum is to exchange ideas and create the optimal framework conditions for companies to grow. Several large Danish enterprises have been invited as well. As part of the Green Week event, Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster is celebrating its anniversary. Participants are invited to "Meet the Visionaries", and the hope is that more companies will join the cluster.
