- World’s largest green caravan to depart from Denmark
- One year from now, the largest green caravan ever will be launched in Århus, Denmark. The TOUR 2012 EUROPE caravan will visit 27 green cities – one city in each EU member state – reaching out to millions of Europeans.
Europeans are aware of the problems facing humanity in relation to climate change, but to most people green solutions such as windmills, biofuel and water pumps are rather abstract. The TOUR 2012 EUROPE caravan will exhibit and showcase a broad variety of very real green solutions in the public space, giving people a first-hand experience of real green products and solutions. The green caravan will start in Århus in April 2012, and will visit 27 green European cities during 2012. Initiator Henrik Rud states:
"This will be the largest green consumer campaign in the history, reaching out to millions of Europeans. We want to exhibit and showcase innovative green solutions in a new way, so that the general public can relate to real products and experience them first hand"
Henrik and his team have secured the support from the Covenant of Mayors and the Danish Government who will hold the Presidency of the EU in first half of 2012.
Nicolai Rottbøll, Head of Secretariat at Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster, supports the initiative:
"I believe this is a great initiative. The cleantech industry has a lot to offer, and this caravan will help create public awareness of the green solutions that our companies and scientists work on every day".
The first companies have signed up to join the caravan, but Henrik and his team is currently on the lookout for more companies who want to join the campaign. If you are interested, you can read more about TOUR 2012 EUROPE here
