Vestas still leads

Despite a significantly different competitive situation, and lost market shares, Vestas still leads the wind turbine market.

CEO Ditlev Engel points out that Vestas has anticipated this trend and thus invested heavily in China and the U.S., Berlingske Tidende writes.
"By huge investments in production in China and the U.S., Vestas has proved - unlike its competitors - to be a true global player," says Ditlev Engel.
If you look at the ten largest markets in the world, Vestas is in the top three in nine of them - only in China has Vestas failed to reach the top three. However, Vestas is the largest non-Chinese producer on the market.
"It is true that we see a number of young ambitious players and there is a fierce global competition taking place. But we are not taken by surprise, though Chinese manufacturers are probably growing faster than we anticipated, "says Ditlev Engel.
