- EcoWorld Styria new partner in the International Cleantech Network
- ICN is proud to welcome one of the world's most proactive energy and environmental technology clusters to ICN. The Austrian EcoWorld Styria saw the light of day in 2005, and today it counts more than 160 members. Furthermore, Austria has a long tradition of working with regional development from a cluster perspective.
In the international cleantech community, EcoWorld Styria is
often referred to as one of the world's strongest clusters with
very strong skills within a variety of cleantech disciplines, e.g.
biomass, solar energy, mass flow and water / waste water.
EcoWorld Styria has decided to join ICN, because the cluster sees
many benefits for companies, knowledge institutions and other
stakeholders in regards to working proactively with international
partnership formation. Currently, Austrian companies are facing a
number of challenges in regards to working in an international
market. ICN can help Austria meet these challenges by building
bridges between stakeholders from many of the world's strongest
knowledge hubs.
Christian Köberl from EcoWorld Styria says "Taking part in this
association could be of real benefit for our companies and for us
as well. ECO WORLD STYRIA's aim is to strengthen international
cluster collaboration. We think that all clusters could learn from
other clusters. By intensifying cluster co-operation, we reinforce
our cleantech companies and the whole cleantech market".
The ICN team looks forward to the collaboration, because ICN
believes that EcoWorld Styria can contribute positively to network
with their knowledge and experience within the clusters and the
energy and environmental fields. EcoWorld Styria will officially be
welcomed into the network at the second ICN network meeting, which
will take place on 1 February 2011 in Fort Collins, Colorado.
