- Bright Green success for Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster
- This weekend’s Bright Green Expo at Forum Copenhagen turned out a success for Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster.
With the COP 15 negotiations toned down for the weekend, the
climate focus and Bella Center delegates turned their eyes to the
Bright Green Expo at Forum Copenhagen, where more than 170 of the
world's leading energy companies demonstrated their know-how and
cutting edge technology products.
Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster had a showroom, open to the many
delegates and others from all over the world interested to know
more about the possibilities for cleantech solutions, research
facilities, investments and cooperation with Danish companies in
the greater Copenhagen area.
The head of Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster's Secretariat, Nicolai
Sederberg Rottbøll, adds: "Our impression from the event is very
positive. Our contribution was to spread the word that companies,
universities and organisations within the cluster hold some of the
recipes for tackling the climate challenge. But no country has a
complete knowledge base. The more we can match foreign players with
local competencies, the stronger a platform we can provide for
knowledge exchange, business and innovative cooperation across
borders."
CCC on the road in Abu Dhabi
In January, the Cluster's Bright Green Expo event will be followed
by a similar event in Abu Dhabi. With the success at Forum
Copenhagen in mind, hopes for the Middle East event are high.
Continues Nicolai Sederberg Rottbøll: "We made a lot of good
connections and held some informative discussions this weekend, and
I am confident that we can build on that next month. More than two
hundred people from companies and organisations and students showed
an interest in knowing more about the opportunities open to them in
Copenhagen."
Besides the participating companies and organisations, the Bright
Green Expo also attracted prominent visitors, speakers and guests
who took part in panel discussions, including the Danish Prime
Minister, the US Secretary of Commerce, the Swedish Minister for
Trade and H.R.H. the Crown Prince of Denmark along with his two
Scandinavian counterparts, H.R.H. the Crown Prince of Norway and
H.R.H. the Crown Princess of Sweden. They talked about their trip
to Greenland, seeing for themselves the effects of the climate
changes. Take the Cleantech Challenge
and get the chance to see the effects of the climate changes with
your own eyes.
