Matchmaking
Introducing you to the right people and projects is a cornerstone of Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster. The cluster facilitates matchmaking between research institutions and companies and build networks with relevant stakeholders.

Business-to-Business

The competitiveness of the cleantech industry depends on companies' ability to be innovative and productive. Analyses have shown that companies in networks and clusters are more likely to be successful compared to those outside a cluster. The presence of several companies within the same industry in the same place creates a number of spill-over effects, for example in terms of knowledge sharing, the use of research-based knowledge, and access to highly-skilled labour.

The ability to see competitors as partners and create strong networks is central to advancing more innovative solutions from the cleantech industry.

Business networks
Business networks aim to introduce businesses within the same fields to each other and to provide them with the benefits of being part of a cluster, including access to a pool of tacit knowledge.

Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster (CCC) aims to create relationships and networks between companies and to do so the CCC partner Copenhagen Capacity facilitate industry-specific networks.

The thinking behind networks and relationship building is that a shared meeting forum available to companies and knowledge institutions enables them to share visions and ideas, thereby clearing the way for collaboration in the development of products, technologies, service activities and business concepts.

Research-To-Business

Increased interaction between knowledge institutions and industry can increase the proportion of research developed into actual products. The new technological and commercial opportunities that businesses gain from the relationship will enhance their global competitiveness and growth potential.

Whether companies need a continuous dialogue with research institutes or a full-scale partnership, this initiative aims to bridge the gap between research institutes and companies.

The goal for the matchmaking activities is to develop innovative partnerships between researchers and companies which build on existing competencies within the companies. The specific themes and framework for the matchmaking activities are planned and implemented in close dialogue with the relevant stakeholders.

Examples of activites include Risø DTU creating a market place where PhDs meet with companies, SCION DTU arranging a number of events with a focus on different international markets, and the University of Copenhagen matching researchers and start-ups.

Smart Grid Network

Intelligent energy systems and smart grids are firmly established in Denmark, and highly regarded by companies and research communities as well as public authorities because of the high level of renewable energy generated, mainly from wind turbines. Alongside this, there is a strong international interest in the competencies relating to smart grids found in Denmark, and thus there is an opportunity to attract foreign companies interested in partnering Danish players to test technologies on the Danish electricity grid.

With the smart grid network, Copenhagen Capacity intends to build strong relationships between the Danish players involved in the development of smart grids so as to encourage collaboration and innovation in the sector.

Network for Development of Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies in Copenhagen

The Municipality of Copenhagen is very keen to develop hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in the region and thus wishes to establish a partnership consisting of relevant stakeholders within the hydrogen and fuel cell sector.

The purpose of the partnership within this specific sector is to create a platform for knowledge sharing, relationship building and the generation of new project initiatives in Copenhagen. The partnership will focus on attracting investments in hydrogen and fuel cell solutions.

The Sustainable Biofuels Network

The Sustainable Biofuels Network (SBN) and its participants actively work and engage with all interested parties in order to promote, support, encourage and facilitate the rapid deployment of clean and sustainable energy sources with a focus on biofuels for the aviation industry, shipping and heavy road transport.

Innovation Network of Environmental Technology

The Innovation Network was not initiated by CCC, but is, however, a close partner whose office is hosted by Copenhagen Capacity.

Four technological service institutes have established the Innovation Network to bring together a range of pacesetting players as well as small and medium-sized companies within the cleantech areas of water, soil, air and waste. Some of the Network's activities will be to conduct analyses to identify future global business opportunities and strengthen matchmaking and knowledge sharing.
