At the day of the long awaited kick-off event on Wednesday 14
April at Copenhagen University in the centre of Copenhagen, it all
came together for CCC. All of the hard work undertaken during the
long winter to establish the cluster fell into place and was
rewarded with a full house of 170 participants on this sunny spring
day.
During the day, the many participants had the chance to hear
presentations on the visions for the Danish cleantech industry from
both the CEO of Dong Energy Anders Eldrup, and from the Danish
Energy and Climate Minister Lykke Friis, and they could herr about
how for example Boeing manages climate challenges in a way that
benefits both the environment and the bottom line.
The event also offered new, interactive opportunities for
participants to pose questions to the presenters and to the panel
during the debate, as well as a number of electronic voting
sessions, which helped maintain an intense and committed atmosphere
during the whole event.
An inquisitive audience
CCC's kick-off event at the University of Copenhagen on 14 April
attracted inquisitive participants from all corners of the
cleantech industry. The many questions were posed both as part of
the event to the presenters and participants in the panel, but also
more widely to CCC as an organisation.
The secretariat has therefore begun to answer the questions and
will continuously update a Q & A list on the website and in
newsletters. The first wave of responses include, among others,
responses on the purpose of a One Stop Shop, networking and how CCC
will ensure an international visibility.
Promising prospects for the cleantech industry in Denmark
Denmark is generally well positioned to participate at the top
of international cleantech. Our public and private stakeholders
interact well together, university knowledge is translated into
products, we have skills at international level. And now we also
have a cluster to gather all of these competencies in one
place.
That is the overall opinion of the 170 participants of CCC's
kick-off event on 14 April. Here, the participants were equipped
with an electronic voting device and throughout the day they voted
on a number of cleantech issues, both in relation to CCC's work,
but also in regards to the Danish environment, collaboration,
opportunities and long term visions.
The questions gave some surprising answers, for example on
Denmark as a test country, but also some more expected responses,
such as the importance of entrepreneurship for the development of
the cleantech industry.
