India looks to Denmark for cleantech solutions
An article in The Economic Times in India focuses on Danish cleantech and highlights our green investment policies describing us as “the world’s most clean-tech country”.

When the world finally moves towards the inevitable -following a sustainable development model and looking for ways to end dependency on fossil fuels as sources of energy - Denmark may well be the place it turns to for expertise and experience.

The Indian "The Economic Times" has discovered all the advantages about Denmark's green growth and attempt to become the world's leading cleantech country. Compliments are numerous, including a lot of attention to our tradition for biking, public transportation and wind turbines as ways to reduce CO2-emissions. Furthermore, the article focuses on the fact that 20 % of our electricity is generated from wind with our wind turbine industry accounting for app. 33 % of the world market. The political goals are a 50 % share of wind power by 2020 and new laws resulting in stricter requirements in regards to the energy consumption in new public and private buildings.

- It is a wonderful thing that Indian media promotes Denmark and Danish technologies and policies in this way. There is no doubt in my mind, that Danish companies have the knowledge and skills to become world leaders in several areas. We are famous for our wind technology, but within the next decade biomass, central heating, smart grid and smart homes will be developed further in Denmark. History shows that Denmark is a good show case for new technologies, and within these areas, where there is a growing demand for these products from all parts of the world, the world market is open to Danish companies, Nicolai Sederberg, Head of Secretariat at Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster, says.
