- Cleantech in Beijing?
- In June the City of Copenhagen signs a general cooperation agreement with Beijing. The agreement may pave the way for concrete cleantech partnerships with companies and research institutions in the Beijing area. Copenhagen hence looks for cleantech projetcs that can benefit from more formal political ties between the two cities.
In order to provide the best possible framework for future
growth in the region, the City of Copenhagen will enter into a
partnership agreement with Beijing. Greater cooperation between
Beijing and Copenhagen is foreseen to stimulate Danish exports to
China and attract yet more Chinese investments to Copenhagen. The
Lord Mayor of Copenhagen will travel to Beijing in June 2012 in
order to sign the agreement.
In the initial dialogue between the two cities, some of the
possible topics of the agreement may cover education, technology
and green city solutions. Nevertheless, the expectation is that the
general agreement, which is still being discussed, will open up for
more specific projects and contracts between Danish and Chinese
companies.
The City of Copenhagen particularly wishes to promote green city
solutions in the agreement with Beijing, such as water management,
district heating and cooling, waste management, etc. and is hence
collecting concrete projects ideas from partners that may be
initiated as part of the signing of the general agreement.
If you have any ideas or proposals that could benefit from
being highlighted through Copenhagen's high level talks with
Beijing, please do not hesitate to contact the City of Copenhagen.
Inputs man concern new ideas as well as projects which have already
been tested and used and may involve research work, products or
proven solutions.
