The strategy is the first of its kind - nationally or internationally. It describes the energy policy tools that are required to make Denmark a green society with a stable energy supply. The strategy is fully financed and takes the competitiveness of the country's businesses into account.
Climate change occurs gradually over a very long time, and the societal consequences of climate change will depend on when and to what extent such changes occur. In any event, the design of infrastructure and buildings will have to be adapted to accommodate the expected changes in climate. The government's aim in adopting its Climate Adaptation Strategy is therefore to ensure that Denmark manages to adapt to climate change in time.
