EU Environmental Technology Verification
Time:
29 February 2012
9:30 AM - 3:50 PM
Venue:
With the launch of the EU’s Environmental Technology Verification pilot programme, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency and DANETV are hosting a conference on verifications and the implications of the introduction of the EU ETV pilot programme.

Environmental technologies contribute positively to the EU's growth and competitiveness, but even great innovative solutions or ideas often face major challenges to break into the market and reach users. Customers prefer well-established technologies with proven track records. The lack of experience and reliable information on new technologies often hinders potentially brilliant technologies form reaching the market.

The ETV pilot programme aims to generate independent, reliable material on new environmental technologies by verifying the performance claims put forward. The Danish Centre for Verification of Climate and Environmental Technologies (DANETV) will present this new pilot programme.

DANETV offers testing of technologies in the area of environmental and climate development with special focus on those with strong links to the Danish technology industry. In addition, DANETV has applied for accreditation under the ETV pilot programme.

Amongst other topics, the conference will explain what technology verification really is, the role of DANETV and its areas of responsibility, and ETV in an EU and global context.
