Demystify the US IP Process- From a commercial and legal angle
Time:
7 February 2012
8:15 AM - 12:30 PM
Venue:
The most comprehensive patent reform in six decades is about to be implemented in the USA and the Danish-American Business Forum is pleased to invite you to a seminar to learn more about the consequences this will have.

Most companies depend on their patents to rightfully protect innovative or technological products and processes. Innovative countries such as Denmark and the USA are therefore highly dependent on a reliable patent system. With the USA about to implement its most comprehensive patent reform in 60 years, companies must act now in order to learn more about the rules of the new system so as to be able to protect their vital intellectual property.

The seminar will focus on how to minimise the risk of US litigation, information about the use of patent rights in the US and restrictions in the application of the Grace Period, as well as a discussion of whether the fear of patent litigation is well founded. Recent mergers and acquisitions where patent rights were the main driving force will also be discussed. These and many other issues will be addressed by a panel of experts.

The Danish-American Business Forum (DABF) has invited experts in the field who will explain and elaborate on the pending reform. The DABF welcomes US Attorney Charles S. Barquist, and US Attorney Kate Murashige, both of whom have several years of experience in working with patent laws and patent litigation. A number of experts from Zacco will also be present at the seminar.
