Danish cleantech to create its own tail wind
Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster (CCC) has celebrated its first birthday. During the first year, we have witnessed an increased global interest in and understanding of the possibilities in cleantech as a generator for the countries that are willing to go green.

Denmark is leading within a number of cleantech areas. But many countries around the world are eager to compete with us. Therefore it is now time to step up and through increased collaboration within clusters we can inspire and strengthen our efforts.

- There are no countries with as large an electricity production from wind as Denmark. Wind is an unstable factor. Therefore, we have a bigger need for developing smart grids compared to other countries. This will be an important task for the cluster, Anders Eldrup, Chairman of CCC, says.

An important resource

Denmark - and the world at large - produces increasing quantities of waste. Some see it as a problem - how do we get rid of it? According to CCC, it is nevertheless an important resource for energy generation, which requires close collaboration between public and private actors. Also, this issue will be addressed by the cluster.

Attracting talent is an important task for CCC's members. With the prospect of missing thousands highly educated employees the next 10 years, we need a massive influx of pundits, to sustain the impressive growth the cleantech industry has experienced over the past decade. Increased cooperation between companies and universities are therefore high on the agenda and can help to attract and increase the talent pool in the cluster.

Open to all

The group behind CCC is open to anyone who can and will help make Denmark a world-class cleantech country. We can see that the need is growing, and therefore we must do our best to make the green, Danish forces an indispensable part of the decisions that politicians worldwide have to make the next few years.
